Flux 2009 Judges:
GREG GIBILISCO, Maya Design
Greg is the president of the Pittsburgh chapter of AIGA and a designer at MAYA, a technology design and innovation lab. He has served on AIGA Pittsburgh's board of directors since July of 2006 and has been the co-chair of Context, AIGA Pittsburgh's annual design competition and exhibition for the past 3 years.
At MAYA he has worked with clients, such as Bayer Healthcare, Comcast Interactive Media, General Dynamics and Whirlpool, to apply human-centered design to kick start innovation around business challenges in the connected world. He also teaches teams how to be more effective by developing competency in human-centered design throughout their organizations. Prior to joining MAYA, he worked as an associate creative director at The Bank of New York Mellon, where he managed a team of designers focused on corporate design and branding. Greg holds a Masters degree in communication from Duquesne University and a Bachelor of Science degree in graphic design from La Roche College.
AMANDA OTTER, Otter: Create
Amanda has sixteen years of professional design experience that began in print, but has been focused on the Web for the last fourteen. Her interactive strategy and design practice, Otter:Create, is based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her work has been recognized by the Webby Awards, the W3 Awards, and the Art Director’s Club of New York. During her previous position as Art Director at Threespot Media, Amanda led site development and identity projects for such clients as National Public Radio, Peace Corps, WETA, and Zipcar. Amanda has consistently taken an active role in the design community, serving on the board of the Washington, DC chapter of AIGA from 1999-2001, and now on the AIGA New Mexico board as President.
CRAIG WELSH, GoWelsh
Work recognized by Communication Arts, Print, How, STEP Inside Design, and
Graphis, and exhibited at The Eisner American Museum of Advertising & Design
(Milwaukee, WI), The One Club (NYC), and the AIGA National Design Center
(NYC). Aside from his role as principal of Go Welsh, Craig is an assistant
professor of communications at Pensn State Harrisburg.
